Houston Slips Slightly in Hotseat Rankings

For a coach in desperate search of some not-awful news, here's some: in the latest ranking compiled by coacheshotseat.com, Houston Nutt no longer tops the list of coaches most in danger of getting fired. But, let's not get carried away here: He dropped all the way to No. 2 on the list, trailing only Charlie Weiss of Notre Dame. Rounding out the top five are Phil Bennett of SMU, Dennis Franchione of Texas A&M and Ed Orgeron of Ole Miss.

You can check out the site's list of potential replacements for Nutt by clicking here and scrolling to the bottom of the page. What - no Pete Carroll or Bill Belichick on the list?

I bet the people at that site were seriously reconsidering dropping Nutt to #2 as the Hogs took a whopping 8 point lead into halftime versus a I-AA team.
