And in the mean time, Davis has already put together one of the strongest freshman classes in college football and is on the way to building another (and the most solid program the Heels have seen since Mack Brown).

It’s amazing what a maelstrom can emerge just because some CBS.com dufus doesn’t have a fact checker. Some hack with a deadline speculates Davis will leave for Arkansas b/c Davis has an exit clause (which is untrue), a local reporter asks Davis to comment on the Arkansas job, and the next thing you know, it’s an Arkansas wet dream. Davis may leave before it’s all said and done, but whoever would hire him will have to cough up a chunk of change. How does that sound after buying out Nuttjob’s contract that expires in 2011?
