Thanks for the Memories

NFL defenses: watch out.

This certainly comes as no surprise, but Darren McFadden and Felix Jones both declared for the NFL Draft today (supportive teammates to the end, they held a joint press conference). We'll surely have more gushingly sentimental thoughts in the days to come, but for now we'll just say thanks to D-Mac and Felix for three amazing years. It's been a blast.

These two have been great for the program and will be remembered for a long time as all time greats. I’m think they will both have excellent pro careers.

I personally can’t wait to to get my DMac and Felix fatheads.

Also, Ryan Mallet will be a great quarterback for us. Chad Henne said that Mallet would be the best quarterback ever at Michigan. Think how great it could be with Mallet surrounded by Petrino’s (assuming he is still here) recruits in 09.

Next year it’ll be Smith running the WildHog with Barnett in motion…oh wait, no it won’t.

Thank you, D-Mac and Felix. We’ll never see another RB pair like you guys. I think what impressed me most about you guys, beyond what you could do on the field, was your selfless attitudes toward each other and the rest of the team. You guys may not fit very well with your teams in the National Football L’Ego, but I can’t wait to see you playing on Sundays.

I look forward to them both saying “University of Arkansas” when the starting lineup is introducing themselves. Outside of pulling for my poor old Saints, I now will have two more pro teams to pull for on any given Sunday. Maybe just one, if by some miracle they end up on the same team. It would be nice to keep the pair together. Just too bad that their last game as a Hog was such a clunker. I’ll just try to imagine the LSU game as the last one.

As far as I recall, the LSU game was the last one for McFadden and Jones. Was there another game after that? If there was, I don’t remember it.

As many great runs as D-Mac had here, I think my favorite play was when he stiff-armed the helmet off the North Texas cornerback this past season?

I don’t know why I randomly put a question mark on the end of the above, by the way.

Charlie,

We’ll let you off with a warning this time. Next offense, however, we’ll have to write you a ticket.
