Remembrances of Things Past

I'm occasionally accused of being overly nostalgic. Although I try not to let those instincts get the best of me when I'm blogging, the one year anniversary of the McFadden/Jones offenseapalooza requires some sort of tribute. I mean, 497 combined rushing yards? Between just two people?? In a single game??? Amazing.

Just sit back and behold these two clips...D-Mac and Felix make it look easy. Hell, for them, maybe it really was that easy. Anyway, enjoy these little 80- and 72-yd dashes down memory lane...I'll see you back in 2008 when you're finished:

I’m sure there is no other coach happier to see DMac and Jones gone then Spurrier. What performances those two had against SC.

Hopefully it will be Smith’s turn to put up yardage like that, maybe 300+ or even 400+, wouldn’t that be fun to watch. Maybe Curtis will finally have his breakout game that we’ve all been waiting for, maybe he’ll add a couple hundred, you know just so that we won’t dwell on the past too long.

You know what I noticed, on both of those videos D.J. Williams essentially kept defenders from getting to DMacn and Jones. Hmm, Maybe I just never really paid attention to our tight ends before, I mean besides the short yardage playaction passes that we seemed to run everytime we needed short yardage when HDN was coach (which usually ended up going to Hillis any way), our tight ends were never really that important in the catching game, only the run blocking game. Anyways, I’m just glad we have someone with DJ’s talent on our team.
