Schadenfreude Alert

I fully realize how, after our thoroughly ridiculous and often humiliating recent coaching searches, an Arkansas fan has no real ground to stand on when it comes to poking fun at other teams having similar difficulties. But, I'll do it anyway because that's just how I roll.

A few years ago, would you have ever thought that Tennessee would get spurned by the head coach of Duke when searching for a replacement for Phillip Fulmer? Duke! That has to sting a bit.

But can you blame Cutcliff? If he stays at Duke and somehow takes them to a bowl game, then he is a GAWD! A bowl game at TN is the bare minimum. If I were him at this point in a career, I would stay at Duke too. The schadenfreude would be even better if TN were on our schedule this year. I think we could take’em! haha. Why do we always seem to get eastern teams (Vanderbilt, Kentucky) at their best in years and never good teams at their worst (Tennessee this year)?

I will admit the coaching searches bordered on ridiculous, but I wouldn’t call them ‘humiliating’. I mean, we got Pelphrey and Petrino, which is nothing to sneeze at (nevermind the fact that Pelphrey was our seventh choice and Petrino was alsost universally [and unfairly] villified).
