Basketball Prediction Open Thread

The season starts tonight. As you probably know, pre-season expectations, at least among the media, are pretty low. Most prognostications that we've seen have the Razorbacks picked dead last in the SEC West. I'm more optimistic than that, but, then again, I'm … ugh, slightly biased. We're young and small, but I think we have enough talent to surprise some people.

Just to start off the discussion, I'll throw out my destined-to-be-horribly-wrong prediction: I say the Hogs will finish the regular season with an 18-11 mark (8-8 in the SEC) and wind up in the NIT.

What do you say?

Learning my lesson from the football season, I am going to go with the Hogs not winning a single game all season. This way they will most likely exceed my expectations by 100 percent!!! ;) In actuality, I think, Stephen, you might be pretty close to the mark, give or take a few games. A lot of the mental / bad chemistry is gone from last year’s team – I hope. This year it will be more pure Pelphrey and less Stan Heath. That’s gotta be good for something!

I’m gonna go with my usual route of being overly optimistic about hog sports. I say 21-8 with an SEC record of 9-7. With a third straight appearance in the big dance.
