Calgon, Take Me Away
Sigh.
I ask this question only partly in jest: Will we win another game this season? I have to think we will, if for no other reason than we have a home game against Georgia. Still, I'm beginning to have my doubts.

Stephen, that was going to be exactly my comment. This is a completely defeated team.
This North Carolina – Duke game is fairly interesting . . . ah, such wistful memories of when Arkansas basketball was meaningful. When was that? Ten, twelve years ago?
Too long, far too long.

I’m old enough to remember the pre-Eddie Sutton days of Razorback basketball when an earnest and well-meaning bunch of players would regularly get the snot beaten out of them by the no-talents of what was arguably the most second-rate basketball conference in America. I never thought I would see us return to that level. We have.

I quit. Its not the coach, I like him. Its not the players; they have been more fun to watch than the past few years teams. Whats wrong? I don’t know what to do? When does track season start.
I live over here in Memphis and I am so tired of hearing about the tigers and how they are expecting a #1 seed b/c they play in a crappy conference, have a used car salesman for a coach who can’t keep players for more than 2 years, let alone graduate them, and could probably beat the Memphis Gizzlies. Can’t a hog fan catch a break?
Sorry, had to vent a bit. On an off note, NC looked tough tonight. Go hogs!!

streak starts at home this weekend. just have to find a way to remember that second half counts as much as the first. sad to know that when fortson missed both his freethrows while up nine that they were about to roll off enough points to take the lead. sadder still that i believed we could hang on to win even with fortson committing a fourth foul. it’s fun to have hope though.
the duke unc game was ridiculous. especially since it drove home(overwhelmingly) the point that our program is still at a level not seen in many of our lifetimes. however, it all starts this weekend. even if we are only able to win three more and possibly one in the tourney, it’ll mean a lot for next year.
maybe meeks miraculously misses the team bus. surely we deserve some type of break to go our way after finding nothing but miscue after miscue. but i’m counting on the crowd to harken back to the texas/oklahoma levels of fandom and help the kids pull off another great one.
who’s with me?

Caught most of the UNC/Duke game. I’ll be honest, I sat nearly bewildered for the first 10 minutes or so before I realized, “Oh… THAT’S what basketball looks like.” Great game between two tough teams. UNC was tougher tonight.
The message boards are melting down with fans calling for Pelphrey’s job. These are the same people that were annointing him the next coming of Nolan just four weeks ago. They now say that we should pony up the cash and go get a name coach. I’d really like to know who exactly they have in mind, because I’m pretty sure that no one fitting that description is available.
Guys… let’s all take a deep breath, grit our teeth, and get through the rest of this season. One thing is for certain: we’ll be deeper than 7 players next year.

Sure was hoping for some good news this morning. I was wanting to read how the Hogs took it to Auburn and got revenge for the early season loss. I guess the only place to read that story is in Imagination Land. I don’t know how many we will win here in the real world, but I just have a feeling that Kentucky is going to be one of them. And Gawd help Pelphrey and company if they can’t beat Georgia at home in front of National Championship team. Gawwddd, help them.

Sue, I agree that calling for firing Pelphrey is silly. But I am pretty disappointed in this recruiting class. He needs to make some serious strides in the next class, and get there in full with the one after that. I think that’s the max time horizon.
I agree, no “name” coach is coming to Arkansas. We have been out of the top echelon for so long we aren’t even on the radar.

I agree no “name” coach will come to Arkansas. I am truly disappointed in this recruiting class. Coach Pelphrey and his staff need to bust his butt off and recruit good players to go along with this year players. Maybe next season will be better, but if not I agree even though I like Coach Pelphrey-he will need to go, but if that happens Arkansas will not get a no "name coach, because when Frank Broyle fired Coach Nolan Richardson he single-handed destroy Arkansas Basketball program and it might not ever recover. What a disappoint to all of the Arkansas’ fans.
