SEC Basketball Power Poll Ballot: Week 6

SECPOWERPOLL2008 logo

Below is our ballot for this week's SEC Basketball Power Poll. (The overall results are available here.) To our mind, the LSU Tigers are a clear-cut No. 1, while Arkansas and Georgia are clear-cut Nos. 11 and 12, respectively. (Man, it hurts to type that.) For slots 2 through 6, you might as well pick the names South Carolina, Florida, Mississippi State, Kentucky and Tennessee out of a hat.

1. LSU
2. South Carolina
3. Florida
4. Mississippi State
5. Kentucky
6. Tennessee
7. Vanderbilt
8. Ole Miss
9. Auburn
10. Alabama
11. Arkansas
12. Georgia

Sadly, I think I would put us behind Georgia, for the reason that we’ve shown we can play competitive basketball and have in turn not done so for much of the season. That seems worse to me than just not being good from the get-go.

i don’t remember us losing to alabama. until we lose down in tuscaloosa, i think we should be 10th. not many teams on this list have wins against two top ten teams.
i’m hoping for the ewing effect to take place this weekend, jump starting us for at least a three game win streak.
