The Formula for Victory

1994 National Championship Team in Attendance + Weekendlong Festivities + John Pelphrey's Boots + Nolan Speech at Halftime + Playing Worst Team in the SEC* = Blowout Razorback Win

Now, if we could just replicate that formula about 25 times a year we'd be in business. We know Nolan, Corliss, Scotty and the rest of the '94 crew are all busy men, but...maybe?

See… that’s what happens when everyone does their part:

M. Wash with 17 and 13
Fortson with 14 and 8
Clarke got 19 while playing tough D (in my opinion)
Henry with 14 off the bench
and Welsh with a very serviceable 14 as well

It’s not like we shot the lights out. In fact, UGA went for a higher percentage (field and 3-pt). Everyone just played their game and we won by 22. Fortson never tried to do too much, and Henry—man, I really love his game—quietly picked up trash as all the good hustle players do. M. Wash double-double, and Rotnei knockin’ down some shots.

I’m not ready to say this team is going to storm (no pun intended) through the SECT and into the NCAAs, but I am ready to take back my Rotnei = Jason Gilbert comment. Sorry Rotnei.

I know UGA sucks, and the celebration of a championship was probably worth a few points, but it’s still nice to see a team play the way we know them to be capable.

Good win.

John, you forgot to add that Mr. Law of Averages showed up that day as well, haha. As promised, I would like to thank him for his attendance and give him his due. Mr. Law of Averages, I owe you a dinner!

I just think this game goes to show that we really do have plenty of talent on this team, but that because of inexperience and lack of depth we have just not been as good as we can be. This kids had something to play for against Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, and Oklahoma, and therefore they played above their physical limitations.
It is much harder for them to get that excited to play with that much intensity against an Alabama or Mississippi, or well most other SEC schools.
