Will the Real Patrick Beverley Story Please Stand Up?
Don't like Patrick Beverley's explanation of the circumstances surrounding his departure from the U of A? Just wait a few minutes, as it will surely change.
In yet another twist, he's now saying, contrary to what he told DraftExpress.com last week, that he knows of no other former teammates who turned in papers penned by somebody else. Bob Holt of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette has the latest.

Putting “former Arkansas Razorback student athlete” on your resume, especially if you played basketball or football, I have always thought as being something that could really up your employment chances in Arkansas, if not guarantee it in some places. But I think Patrick Beverly has just joined Houston Nutt in the shred the resume catagory as people who have gone against the family. Which is bad news for Beverly, for he is certainly no lock to retire from the NBA. And probably a lock to blow what money he does earn if he gets drafted.

Beverly also did himself no favors with the NBA. If before his character was questionable due to the way he left Arkansas, imagine how it is now when he’s shown he lacks the simplest form of self control, keeping quiet about personal legal issues. If he can’t keep from casting aspersions at his former school, even when it’s, as he says, was unintentional, what is going to make him reliable as a pro?
I doubt he would get drafted anyway, and saying something as dumb as what he said was inexcusable. Nobody is helped by what he said. I’ll bet he woke up the next morning feeling like he had one awful hangover.
