A Brief Return of the Happy, Crazy, Razorback Football Trivia Funtime Game
If you were following the site during the summer, you know we had a weekly trivia question here to get us ready for football season. The season isn't over, and I am not counting down already for next season, but I thought the subject matter of the question deserved being brought up here. As I am still somewhat in this dark night of the Razorback football soul, post Ole Miss game, a trivia question came to me about another Ole Miss game, the 2001 version, that had a much better, though we had to wait seven overtimes, outcome for us Hog fans. How much have you been thinking about that game? Do you want to think about it some more? If so, try to answer these questions.
1. (Amateur Level - Yeah, I saw the game) Name the three quarterbacks who played in the game. Two come easily to mind, but there were three!
2. (Intermediate Level - I replay the game in my head while waiting in lines) Name the Ole Miss tight end who caught the last pass, but didn't score, which resulted in the end of the game - finally! And who was the Hog who put the sure tackle on him?
3. (Expert Level - I have the game recorded and watch it on a regular basis) Name the four person ESPN crew that broadcast the game that night. Three were in the booth.

Amateur Level
I’m going to try this without the help of Google.
The three quarterbacks were Eli Manning, Matt Jones and Ryan Sorahan?
Intermediate
Don’t know his first name but Ziegler was the OM tight end. Jermaine MF Petty stopped him.
Sorahan came later
This year was the one where Zack Clark was splitting time with Jones
Nice catch
That crossed my mind, but for whatever reason I thought I remembered Sorahan out there. Or maybe I just lump all of those underwhelming Pre-Jones quarterbacks we had into one dude and call him Sorahan.

Well done!
That is right, trip, Ziegler was the OM tight end and Jermaine Petty was the Hog that nailed him before he made it to the goal line. And, MexiHog, you are right too. Clark was the qb. He would transfer after the 2002 Cotton Bowl, and then it was RS who split snaps with MJ.
Do we not have an expert level Hog fan on here? haha.
Now I feel stupid. Next time please pose a Novice Level.
I shouldn’t have missed so badly on Sorahan. I actually met the guy when we were students.
He lived across from me in my apartment complex one year. A couple of us crashed a party he was having one night. He had all of these wooden, African war masks hanging on the living room wall. My buddy asked him, “So do you put those on and dance around here naked to get pumped up for games? Booga, booga, booga!” Then he laughed and did this little squaty-dance thing. Sorahan definitely did not laugh and just stared at him and softly said, “No.” I thought he was going to punch my friend in the face. Later, some squirely guy showed up with a big gas can full of beer, and everyone passed it around and drank out of the nozzle. It was a weird party.
Actually...
I had to look up the QB situation because I didn’t really remember that Sorhan did in fact play that season, he had started against Alabama and Tennessee actually, but got injured which gave way to the Clark/Jones Duo. So I guess I lumped all of those quarterbacks into one QB too for that year and thought it was just Clark. I thought Sorahan didn’t play until after that year.
Possum, thanks!
for the Sorahan story. I remember how he would start games so MJ could come off the bench and play better than if he had just started the game itself. That was pretty weird too.
half-ass elite guess
i was at the game and only saw it on the espn2 4am replay afterward. i seem to recall curry and golic but have no clue who the other two were
You got, half!
That is right. Billy Curry and Mike Golic were two members of the crew. The third guy in the booth is a tough one! I’ll just say that the field announcer was not Miss Piggy, aka Holly Rowe.
Nobody at the expert level? haha
Clearly, all of you need to brush up on your knowledge of THE epic seven overtime win in Oxford, haha. Mike Golic, Bill Curry, Dave Barnett, and Michelle Tafoya were all part of that night’s ESPN crew that got to see history made in Oxford.
