Reasons to Hate: LSU

lsu fanspaintjob1

This season we're resurrecting an old feature charmingly called Reasons to Hate. As a public service to you, the Hog fan, we'll be providing a handy pre-game cheat sheet detailing why you should hate each one of the Razorbacks' opponents this fall. Some weeks will be easier than others...

1. Their Fans Are Insane. Sure, every SEC team has its share of nutsos in the fanbase, but LSU has taken the batshit crazy approach and turned it into a fairly despicable art form. Want proof? Check out this post on Deadspin if you dare...we should warn you that it's pretty hard to watch. (Their sense of humor is lacking, too - we were still getting very serious comments in response to our 2007 Reasons to Hate post almost a year after the game.)

2. The Boot. As we noted earlier in the week, the Golden Boot may be a little goofy but there are few sweeter sights than seeing the Hogs carry it off the field after delivering another crushing defeat to the Tigers. Do I need to mention that this has happened two years in a row?

Star-divide

3. Ar-Kansas. Yeah, this still bothers us a bit. But, as D-Mac pointed out after the 2007 game, we're pretty sure Les Miles knows how to pronounce it now.

4. We Can Ruin Their Season. The Hogs sent the Tigers off on a very bad note last year with that glorious 31-30 victory in Little Rock. Doing it again - and watching the inevitable fan meltdown that would surely follow - would be doubly delicious.

5. The Cotton Bowl Is On The Line. Most experts seem to think that the Arkansas-LSU winner will be in Dallas on January 2 - always a great ending to the season for the Razorbacks (until the game is actually played, that is). At the beginning of the year LSU had serious BCS hopes and the Hogs were just looking for a winning season, so sending them off to some 3rd tier bowl while we pick Cotton would be just perfect.

Their colors are ugly,

their fans are just down right phycotic, and they have a coach from the state of Michigan who can’t pronounce A-r-k-a-n-s-a-s. They also say dumb shit like Geaux Tigers! What else could you want?
3 wins in a row would be sweet as hell.

GO HOGS GO, BABY!!!!!

And they won't participate in the Expat interview!!

The exchange of Q&A between our expat crew and the opponent is one of my favorite things done by Arkansas expats; maybe SB nation should fine or suspend “And the Valley Shook”.
On another note, I have the same feeling that I had before the Georgia game; that feeling of excitement and anticipation, but also the eery feeling that the game may be a heartbreaker. I expect alot of points and some great offensive plays from the Hogs, but I’m worried the Hogs may not be able to play the full 4 quarters. Even last week Miss St destroyed the Hogs in the third quarter; the Hogs can’t take a quarter off in this game. In my opinion, the key matchups are our offensive line vs the LSU def line and our secondary vs LSU receivers. Hopefully we can limit LSU to the single pre-determined 70+ yard 3rd quarter TD and Johnson (or maybe Fish) can have a huge special teams play.
As Rasputin felt horrible about his prediction, it pains me to predict LSU 35 Ark 31. Go Hogs, prove me wrong as you did agaisnt Auburn and win by 3 touchdowns!!

Its not that they won't, Pittman our fearless leader

just stepped down and there has been a changing of the guard.

On behalf of ATVS and my fellow Tigers, sorry if you felt snubbed. Not the case.

It has also been a crazy week with fall out from the Ole Miss game. Much like you guys were split over H Nutt we are in-fighting over Les Miles.

For a break down on the game:

Your offense is a lot better than ours.
(Your QB is much better at this point, we are starting our 4th RB and have other injuries plus it is plausible that our Offensive Coordinator is taking hallucinogens as he seems to think the plays he is running work because he runs the same ones over and over and over…..)

If our defense shows up, we win that battle. (They have been suspect at times but can also shut down anyone, especially the passing game – our secondary is the best in the country, talent wise… You should run the ball our DLine, while much better, has been a weakness all year.)

Our special teams is a lot better than yours. (no contest)

Bottom line, you guys should be in great shape to win this game, in fact all things considered you should crush us.

Aint gonna happen though! In my non-expert and completely biased opinion, the Tigers are going to rally around coach Miles and play their best game of the season. Thus, you have no shot. Sorry, but that’s how I see it.

Sorry about the lack of Q&A

no offense was meant. You guys just caught us at a terrible time. The holidays, work, me stepping down as site administrator with a new guy stepping in, and me buying a house and having to put in the time to fix it up before moving in all contributed to us just not responding to the invite. The time just wasn’t there to get involved. Sorry.

no worries

I actually figured it was something like that (I’d seen the news that you were stepping down), but couldn’t resist poking a little fun. Unfortunately for me, the Tigers got the last laugh anyway.

You might want to put a NSFW tag on the picture.

I’m pretty sure that’s a woman. Burn.

2006 War Memorial Stadium

LSU ended our winning streak and helped to knock us out of a BCS bowl. Florida put the final nail in that coffin in the SEC championship game. I can still see Trinton running back that kickoff after DMAC just had hit a homerun with a big TD that sent the stadium into Hog Heaven. For bringing us back down to earth that day, I’ll always find it easy to hate LSU.
