So far, I’m really impressed with the defense, especially that stand inside the 5 yard line. In addition, we are not giving up huge plays or missing many tackles; however, we aren’t getting sufficient pressure on Garcia and have given up too many 3rd down conversions. The offense is playing inconsistent and our dependency on big plays and inability to run the ball worries me (yeah same ole story but I’m still dissappointed). But… it is 10-10 and I think our best half of football is ahead of us. If we can minimize big plays by the USC offense and maybe cause a turnover, I like our chances.

That wasn't you.
That was just par for the course this season. One thing I’ve noticed is that, with the exception of the Georgia and ’Bama games, big plays were exclusively given up in the third quarter (check the box scores for Auburn, Florida, OM, and even EMU).

Mallet threw for 300 yards, completed 80% (!) of his passes, and didn’t even throw a TD pass.

It seems that the Broderick Green experiment is paying dividends. He struggled agaisnt MO. St. in goal line runs, but he has really improved this year. Mallet throws over 300 yards, and his only TD was a rush; not a typical combination. Go Hogs!
