Hell Yeah: Arkansas 33, South Carolina 16

Fall afternoons don't get much better than this: temperatures in the mid 60s, clear skies, trees full of bright yellow and red leaves.  And, oh yeah, a resounding Razorback victory.

This one was big, as the Hogs' postseason hopes got a huge boost. Special tips of the cap go to Ryan Mallet, who completed 21 of 26 passes for 315 yards, and tight end D.J. Williams, who dialed the clock back to 2008 by catching seven passes for 139 yards.

Big, big win. More thoughts later, but a beautiful Saturday afternoon beckons.

Let us know what you think in the comments thread.

I stand by my earlier prediction (since it obviously didn't jinx us)

Look for the Hogs to win out over the next 3 games.

Progress...

If we win against Troy and Miss St., we will be heading to Baton Rouge with the same record, 7-4, as we did in 2007. I still don’t know what to think of LSU (I haven’t checked the score today, yet), but I hope we will have more than a fighting chance in Baton Rouge. Regardless, we are in for an exciting end to the season, and a trip to the post-season. Go Hogs!!

I think what made the offense work so well was that Mallet is finally starting to look at the short routes and also putting some touch on those passes. He’s no longer just looking for the bomb downfield, but he’s starting to see his outlets. Hope he keeps improving.

I agree 100%

If Mallet will just check all his receivers instead of just locking on the deep routes the guy is unstopable. Looks like he’s finally starting to get the fact that we have receiving threats at ALL positions. The improvement is showing.

Based on some of his post-game comments, it sounds like Mallet did want to throw the deep ball, but SC sacrificed their short coverage for deep coverage. That’s why DJ was open all day.
