Unlike last season, the 2009 Hog football season shouldn't have Razorback fans scurrying for Lexapro prescriptions.
So saith the Sporting News' Dave Curtis. OK, so maybe those aren't his exact words, but the scribe places the Hogs second on his list of five teams that will show the largest increase in wins from 2008 to 2009. Specifically, Curtis says Bobby Petrino's second squad will finish the year 9-4, up from last year's 5-7 record.
Curtis' comments: "Where Bobby Petrino goes, wins follow. He'll be this season's example of the second-year bump enjoyed at the highest level by Bob Stoops, Jim Tressel and Urban Meyer, among others. If Ryan Mallett can quit breaking fingers, he's the best quarterback in the SEC West. Four wins seems a given in nonconference play (Missouri State, Eastern Michigan, Troy and Texas A&M in Dallas). And the defense will tackle well enough to manage a 4-4 SEC record and a win in the Chick-fil-A Bowl."
Arkansas winning a bowl game? Maybe we truly are living in the Last Days.
