Happy Crazy Razorback Football Trivia Funtime Game - Part Seven (Sebun)

This week's Razorback football trivia question centers around coaching. More specifically, the number of coaches at Arkansas. Without using Wikipedia or Mr. Google, see if you can come up with the number of head football coaches (not including interim, sorry Reggie and Joe) who have coached at the UofA. And for bonus inner satisfaction, can you name the first head coach of the Hogs? Next, put on your sumo suit and give yourself a haircut that looks like Rick Schaffer's, someone who could give you the answers to this week's edition in a heart beat. On second thought, just put on the sumo suit and listen to Mr. Sunshine Rick himself. There are limits, even on Japanese game shows!

Pretty sure that...

John Futrall was the first coach. I loved living in the dorm named for him, but it’s surprising that it wasn’t very fancy, considering it was named for a football coach and all.

Correct! to the Second Part

Futrall was the first UofA football coach. And, yeah, the dorm is not very impressive at all. Frank Broyles rather ate up most of the football naming real estate. Don’t ever see Houston Nutt even getting a janitor’s closet named after him.

Good question, guys...

Just a shot-in-the-dark guess, but I’m going with 8 total.

Much higher

The early years so a lot of one or two seasons and I am done type of coaches at the UofA. The sport was young, and they didn’t have ESPN around to call them mercenaries.

The Answer is 29 Head Coaches

That is a lot when you consider we’ve only had 43 presidents of the country, and the USA has been at it twice as many years as the UofA has been playing football. Thank goodness none have been assassinated while in office – yet. Haha.

Yeah...

if I had given it more than a second’s thought, I would’ve realized my answer was pretty stupid. I can name the past seven, and football at Arkansas certainly goes back farther than the Frank Broyles era (although some would say that point is arguable).

I believe that’s the first trivia Q no one’s had an answer for.

Is it Sept. 5th yet?
