This should be required reading for anyone thinking that Billy G would be a good hire:

First time I shot her, shot her in the side.
Hard to watch her suffer, but with the second shot she died...
Note
It should be noted that the author of this article has been very outspoken regarding his dislike of Gillispie and that UK/Gillispie situation was very volitale indeed. Also, note that Gillispie’s former school, Texas A&M, continues to have nothing but high praise regarding Gillispie. Two schools with VERY different experiences and interpretations.
It is not worth an intelligent man’s time to be in the majority. By definition, there are already enough people to do that.

I TOTALLY DISAGREE
I think Billy is a fine coach and WILL be successful. He definitely has the ability. He was not a good fit at UK and there are obviously some very bitter people on that regard. I am a HUGE UK fan, but I remain completely pro-Gillispie and wish him nothing but the best and lots of success.
Pelphrey is a good guy and one of our own. I absolutely wish him the best in his career – whether that is at Arkansas or whatever. Please dont take this as my saying that Pel should be out and G should be in. Its not my school and I have no dog in that fight. Since someone decided to speak out so freely against Billy Gillispie, I just felt the need to speak out – just as freely – in FAVOR of him.

I hope we don't hire him...
Just because of the way he spurned us earlier. But, he also doesn’t really deserve to be bad-mouthed by Kentucky fans, who are probably just as impatient (and maybe delusional) as the Arkansas fanbase when it comes to their “return to prominence”.
Besides, and you can call this sour grapes or whatever (I assure you that it’s not intended to be), I wouldn’t get too attached to anything Calipari wins at Kentucky, such as an SEC championship or NC. Experience has shown that it will likely be revoked by the NCAA. You’ll see it coming from a mile away, though, around the time someone like Duke or North Carolina hires him away from you unexpectedly.
