Michael Sanchez Out for Six Weeks with Broken Foot
If it wasn't for bad luck, poor Michael Sanchez would have no luck at all.
The basketball Hogs' frighteningly thin frontcourt just got a little thinner: Sanchez, a 6'8" power forward who missed nearly all of last season with plantar fasciitis, has suffered a stress fracture in one of his feet and will be out approximately six weeks.
Sanchez was probably not going to set any scoring records, but the junior from Springdale is a hard-working, Johnny Punchclock-type who had reportedly looked impressive in preseason practice. His toughness will be missed but hopefully it will be around for SEC play; with Sanchez's luck, though, you better not bet the milk money on that.

I know my user name won’t lead credence but I’m a big Razorback basketball fan.
I’ve been a fan since I was 8 years old in the early 90’s around 1992. I loved watching Oliver Miller, Todd Day, Big Nasty Williamson, Kareem “The Best Kept Secret” Reid, Brandon Dean, Joe Johnson, Jannero Pargo, Brandon Davis, Weems and all of those guys. Weems and Stephen Hill hitting that shot to beat UT in the SEC Tournament after all those storms in Atlanta.
The 2000 team that won the SEC Tournament, which was the first team to win by playing all four days, I still have that picture that ESPN showed saved on my computer (now my flash-drive) was probably my favorite team.
Loved the “40 Minutes of Hell” and wish they still ran it.
I thought Stan Heath was going to make things happen when he got Brewer and Olu and even got big Al Jefferson to commit. The Olu went to the draft (much like Courtney Fortson last season) and Big Al went straight to the NBA.
Just a FWIW post, because I’d like to contribute here mostly in basketball threads, articles, comments and such.

And by all means, don’t be a stranger. I can tell by your knowledge of Razorback basketball that you are a swell fella (or gal – I can’t tell by your username).
One Thing About It
Sanchez ought to graduate with a doctorate as long as he’s been around. Seems like it anyway. Wasn’t he recruited by Nolan? He does have some bad (foot) luck.
sanchez
i have been wondering if sanchez will be off scholarship next year as a walk on because we will have 14 players including him if everyone qualifies. Honestly, I doubt he plays this year too, but we’ll see. Last year had to be disappointing to him.
On another note, some very interesting information is coming out about Auburn and Pay for Play, with its Board of Trustees and the FBI and recent arrests and convictions for bribing elected officials. More will be coming out I’m sure the next week and Auburn may be headed some say for the death penalty and expulsion from the SEC.
