Rasputin Unveils His Mississippi State Prediction. What's Yours?

In anticipation of tomorrow's battle against Mississippi State, we asked Rasputin, our staff soothsayer and a seemingly ageless Russian immigrant, to offer his prediction for the game. Rasputin - who claims he had some mean pillow fights with Gertrude Stein and Alice B. Toklas back in the day - has been a rabid Razorback football fan since the program's debut in 1894.

His forecast is after the jump:

"Oh, this journey into Starkville - it doth worry me so,

My dreams of a good bowl game, down the drain they must not go!

My anxiety starts to rise and a loss I do fear,

But then visions of darling Alice do soon appear.

She says, 'Relax, 'ole Raz - things will turn out right
The Hogs will claim victory late in the Mississippi night.'

I dance a strange jig, one fueled by pure glee,

There's nothing quite like a nail-biting victory!

The pig-emblazoned warriors of Arkansas - 30,

The mighty and most honorable warriors of Mississippi State - 27."

Arkansas has never lost a football game I’ve attended. I will be in Davis-Wade Stadium on Saturday.

We are probably due for a close game

But I hope we can avoid one on the road. In my before the season prediction I said the Hogs would go 10-2 and this would be one of the losses. I correctly had Alabama as the other. I guess I mistakenly thought Cecil Newton had sold Cam Newton to MSU, haha. I did see it as a tough game, as it always has been in Starkville, but if the Hogs can maintain the level of play on offense from the last few games then I don’t think MSU can keep up with that type of scoring and the Hogs do win easily. “thebeave” we are counting on you! haha.

Not quite getting the reference...
