Rasputin Makes His LSU Prediction. What's Yours?
In anticipation of tomorrow's battle against LSU, we asked Rasputin, our staff soothsayer and a seemingly ageless Russian immigrant, to offer his prediction for the game. Rasputin - who once narrowly bested Grover Cleveland in a legendary drinking contest in a Buffalo, N.Y., tavern - has been a rabid Razorback football fan since the program's debut in 1894.
His forecast is after the jump:
"Journeys into the end zone, frequent they shall be,
Shouts of joy and pain - both will erupt from me.
I think of my battle against Grover, so many moons ago,
My comeback in that contest laid that mighty man low.
And so it shall be tomorrow, beneath the brilliant Arkansas sun,
A flurry of points and good play will make the ending mighty fun.
The holiday season - it shall begin with abundant good cheer,
And the Hogs will be in a top-notch bowl at the start of the next new year.
The pig-emblazoned warriors of Arkansas - 42,
the most honorable and worthy Cajun warriors of LSU - 38."
Well, we've heard from Rasputin - now let's hear from you. Vote in the poll and pipe up in the comments thread (and while you're at it - check out this awesome prognostication from exocet. After reading it, ole 'Raz said, "The soothsaying Force is strong with this one.")

Common opponents
LSU has beaten both the teams Arkansas has lost to. LSU beat Miss State 29-7 when their was no resemblance of a passing game. Remember the name Michael Ford #42. 24-21 Tigers.
I Kneel Before Zod!!
Yeah, I am still down about our Miss. State loss.

Revisionist history
I really thought we beat Miss. State, too. Seems so fresh in my mind for some reason. Anyway, after doing some research, I see that LSU beat Auburn 31-10 on Oct. 24, 2009. I guess that is the argument (?).
Hogs 52, lsu 34

No, no...LSU got a last second, nine-point touchdown beat Auburn by two this year (26-24)
It’s shame. I really thought Auburn had a chance to go to the national championship until then. Now all we can do is hope some other teams mess up and a one-loss SEC team gets in.
My friend, we both lost to Auburn, as you may have figured out.
If you were trying to make a comparison about MSU, I can see that, but we had them at home, and their backup QB (too lazy to look it up) kept them in the game a lot of the first half. So it’s kind of apples and oranges to a small degree. I do expect some good things out of Ford though.
As for a prediction
It pains me to say it, but it looks like the Hogs’ year. (I will likely be labeled a heretic and burned at the stake for this, but I am realistic.) Y’all just have too much offensive weaponry, with so many targets for Mallett to hit. If it was just that, I think we could contain it well enough, but Knile Davis is the thing that pushes it over the top. Wide runs, screens, wheels out of the backfield, etc., I just see that as the difference-maker.
Y’all by a TD or so, as a guess, I’ll say 34-27. I am wrong about a lot of things, and I sure hope this is one of them.
HAHAHA...i'm digging the reverse psychololgy!!
j/k…good luck to both teams! Here’s to a hard fought game and no injuries! As far as a prediction:
HOGS – 42
LSU – 41 in triple OT
WOOOOOO PIG SOOIE!!!
The Psychology of it all
I think Auburn’s win today, which keeps the door open to a BCS bowl, was great mentally for the Hogs. I am sure they would have still played hard with an Auburn loss today, but the win gives them even more besides the Boot and ten wins to play for.
I say the Hogs win in a hard fought battle that isn’t decided until sometime late in the 4th quarter. But would love to see it be like 1998 when the game was pretty much decided in the first quarter for the Hogs.
LSU 31 Arkansas 21,
I think our D shows up again after OM disappearing act.
(Real) Havey Pekar: I felt more alone that week than any. Sometimes I'd feel a body lying next to me like an amputee feels a phantom limb. All I did was think about Jennie Gerhardt and Alice Quinn and all the decades of people I had known. The more I thought, the more I felt like crying. Life seemed so sweet and so sad, and so hard to let go of in the end. But hey, man, every day is a brand new deal, right? Just keep on working and something's bound to turn up."
