D.J. Williams: Catcher of Passes, Seeker of Truth
D.J. Williams' awesomeness on and off the field is no secret - in addition to his much-lauded football skills, his personal story is genuinely inspiring. And, as we noted a few weeks ago, he has a great sense of humor and isn't too shabby as a musician either. So yeah, he's one of our favorites.
But, what you may not know is that he has a Twitter account, and his tweets are legitimately excellent. (Editor's note: apologies for making this the second Twitter story of the week, but we couldn't resist.) Rather than resorting to banalities like many athletes (or, to be fair, people in general), D.J. tends to go the philosophical route. Here's a sampling:
Historical pondering, with a twist:
Flights of fancy:
(more after the jump)
Popular culture:
Raging against the machine:
Life philosophy, with some cartoon flavor:
The answers, obviously, are Chester A. Arthur, a griffin, Stepbrothers, because we did too, and the Brain - always reach for the stars.
D.J.'s Twitter account is @dj45williams - follow him!

Andrew Jackson would destroy all of them
Do you remember that spelling bee you won in the first grade? Rock? "R-O-K"?
Pretty solid list right here

My first thought was Teddy Roosevelt
But Jackson was my second. Both have that ass-kicking ability.
I am going to guess and say that
DJ probably doesn’t have problems coming up with paper ideas to write on, haha. William Howard Taft, if he sat on you, well, you would be done for! Lincoln was a scrapper too, I believe.
he might be using his twitter account to test out possible paper topics
Stephen and I are concerned about his overuse of sentence fragments, though. D.J., I know it’s Twitter and all, but you can do better!
Well, he isn't alone.
I taught composition at the UofA for two years as a graduate student, and the student body at the University of Arkansas can produce sentence fragments like (insert some crazy Wally Hall simile).
dj is hilarious
i’ll have to let him know you wrote this, if he doesn’t already know by now. hahaha.
