Intriguing Tweets, Part Two

A little more than half an hour ago, Pat Doney, sports anchor for KARK-TV, tweeted the following three items:

Sources tell me that fmr Bama head coach Mark Gottfried and Ok St asst James Dickey will be a part of Hog basketball coaching staff next year

Also hearing Rotnei Clarke is leaning toward coming back but it is NOT official yet. Clarke still weighing options, according to my sources.

The good news - I expect a decision from Rotnei as early as today. I'll get you the latest as I hear it.

Could we possibly see an assistant coaching staff of Rob Evans, Mark Gottfried and James Dickey? That would be pretty crazy.

Update (2:54 p.m. CDT): Robbie Neiswanger just tweeted the following: "Spoke to Gottfried a few minutes ago, who said it's not true: "I have absolutely no idea where that got started."

Could it still be just

a shuffling of the chairs on the Titanic?

I know I'm harping on this, but...

But if you read the article at Hogwired (or whatever it’s called now), the statistical comparison of Pelphrey to the former coaches seems to favor Pel. He’s pretty close to Nolan, and vastly outpaces Stan. Only in Arkansas will we have fans literally screaming for the removal of a coach like that, as well as screaming to show an All-SEC HM (Fortson) the door because the team is “better without him”.
The Hogville forums are crazy today (well, crazier than usual). Everything from Jeff Long hiring Mark Gottfried as an assistant with the express intention of then firing Pel and promoting Gottfried, to some bizarre triangle involving Rotnei Clarke being somehow forced to issue a statement at the behest of Pel or Long, stating that the only reason he’s staying is because of Coach Pel.
It may be a shuffling of chairs on the Titanic, but who’s the iceberg, so to speak?

Hoville as well as many others aren't worth reading anymore.

They are just tools for rumor-mongering.
The recruiting section and other non- main sports boards are alright.

Exactly.

Recruiting and Baseball are worth reading, definitely. Hogville was never known for being the “Rhodes Scholars” of Razorback info (that’s Stephen and John, right?), but it’s… troubling… as to how paranoid and insane this rather vocal segment of the fanbase has become.

With Apologies To Randy Edsall, The Big East Remains Mostly Harmless

FILE -- This is an Oct. 18, 2008 file photo showing Connecticut corner back Jasper Howard (6) trying to get the crowd into the game during the fourth quarter of an NCAA college football game against Rutgers, in Piscataway, N.J. Jasper Howard had his little sisters' names tatooed on his chest. His friends say it was a constant reminder of why he was at U Conn _ to provide his family with a better life than the one he had in Miami's Little Haiti. (AP Photo/Mel Evans, File) link
