Around SBN: Lance Berkman Could Have Torn ACL

Arkansas 31, Georgia 24: 19 Nervous Breakdowns.

Holy crap. My nerves are thoroughly TOASTED.

From the supreme happiness and giddiness of the third quarter to the catatonic depression of much of the fourth to the crazed delirium after Greg Child's TD to the oh-my-god-they're-going-to-tie-the-game! reaction to Aaron Murray's last-second Hail Mary, I have experienced way too many extreme emotional states this afternoon.

In other words, I had a blast.

Days like today are why we love sports (of course if we had lost, today would be an occasion to question why we invest so much time and emotional capital in a bunch of teenagers and twentysomethings chasing a ball around the field).

But here are the facts: the Hogs just notched their first road win in nearly two years. They just notched a road win against one of the SEC's signature programs. They just won a game that many of us said they had to win in order for them to have the season that we all want them to. And they just won the kind of game that we've seen them lose way, way too many times over the years: one in which they fail to stem the home team's furious late-game comeback.

And they're undefeated heading into next week's showdown against the sainted Crimson Tide.

Let's get ready to rumble! Woo Pig Sooie!

More thoughts to come in the hours and days ahead, including a mighty podcast tomorrow in which we join forces with the Razorbloggers. In the meantime, share your thoughts in the comments thread. And raise a toast to the Hogs!

Great recap Stephen and ditto!

Watching the Bama Duke game now. Next week is going to be a helluvagame. In other news, Vandy is so great and I love Houston Nutt. He has lots of heart! And he plays until the whistle blows! Other fun stuff, the Goffers are making Lane Kiffin check his clipboard. I think half the fans at the game are Vols looking to see Kiffin loose!N

By the Way

Someone needs to check on the Rebel nation. I’m growing concerned that there may be a mass suicide attempt soon.

It's like looking into a dirty mirror.

Some “darksiders” have emerged, with “Fire Nutt!” as thair battle cry.
The “huggers” are still living on back-to-back Cotton Bowls, and blaming Orgeron for their current problems.

Does that sound vaguely familiar to Razorback Nation in Nutt’s 3rd year?

This is why. . .

you take an 81mg aspirin. Everyday.

This is also why my dog had anxiety issues. The thinks I’m yelling at her, because only a crazy man would yell at the TV like that.

Nutt virus Disclaimer:

Symptoms may include Nuttiness, frequent bouts of crying and despair, a chronic belief that everyone has heart, and an unshakeable belief that you’re undefeated despite having a winless season. If you (or someone you know) are fans of Ole Miss please get help somewhere.

Is it me or has every big game in the past few years

Completely tested the hog nation’s collective mental well-being! Great game Hogs! Hopefully it’s a little less dramatic next week (but I’ll take a W either way).

Best overall kicking game since???

Breeding’s rocket at the crucial moment, Hocker’s authoritative fg, Tejada’s ko’s— I’m stuck trying to remember when we’ve had a better all around kicking game. Plus Breeding scrambles for a first down on the only bad snap. We’ve had decent punters, but when with a good kicker?

Congratulations on your big win.

I'm all about covering the spread and moneylines. Glory favors the bold. Chance favors the prepared mind. Luck, well i have that too. University of Utah goes to the Pac-12 conference in 2011. I expect them to compete immediately for the conference CG. Brock Lesnar will defeat Cain Velasquez. The most hated and misunderstood person on the MMA blogs.. Utah and Boise take care of business in week one. Don't be surprised if they both go undefeated.

Great Game

Had to watch the game TIVO’d on a buddy’s Slingbox b/c kickoff was at 2 am Melbourne, Australia time. Range of emotions, but we did it when it counted and a big SEC road win. Bring on Bama.

48 Yards!! Can You Believe It???

This was one of those fun games to watch. It had all the emotion. Big defensive play at the end, turning the momentum around and Mallett remaining cool with the game on the line and 47 seconds. Who can believe that a Razorback field goal kicker notched a 48 yard field goal – and it would have been good from 60. Wow. Fun day indeed.

Nutt

I’m glad that Ole Miss fan’s get to suffer what Hog fans had to suffer through for so long!

Talking to you is like having phone sex with a deaf girl...

One mistake in the post

Georgia is no longer a ‘signature program.’ They are now simply afterbirth. Enjoy Arkansas, you got potential. And as a Gator with no particular hate or love for Arkansas, I toast you for living up to my maxim of rooting for my Gators, and whoever plays Georgia. Now go seize that trip to Atlanta. Oh, and do to Alabama what Auburn did to Clemson today, make them pay on every play.

you’re the kind of person, you meet at certain dismal dull affairs, center of a crowd, talking much too loud, running up and down the stairs,
well, it seems to me that you have seen too much in too few years, and though you’ve tried, you just can’t hide, your eyes are edged with tears,
You better stop, look around, here it comes here it comes here it comes here it comes…
Here comes your nineteenth nervous breakdown!

Thank you MIck & Stephen, the Aftermath is wonderful! Go Hogs!
