Alabama fan here curious about the Offensive Line
Reading up on all the postgame reports from multiple sources and saw something interesting. From what I have read, Arkansas does not have left/right side lineman, but strong and ____ (I'm sorry I forgot what the Q stood for). If I missed something and this is wrong let me know and I will delete this. Despite being reasonably knowledgeable and having played through high school, I do not watch games critically or analytically, and did not catch this during the game. Can someone here explain to me the alleged advantages and disadvantages of doing this?

Maybe a little help...
When Petrino came to Arkansas we had some positions on the offensive line that just weren’t up to par. Petrino’s answer was to have a strong and weak O-line. If I remember right, it just concerned the placement of the guards. After Petrino’s first season I didn’t hear any more about it so I assumed that that had just been a temporary fix to a temporary problem.
This year we have two freshmen on the O-line. They’re good, no doubt, but they lack the experience (really showed at the end of the fourth quarter last week) so it’s possible Petrino has revisited the strong/weak O-line positioning to accommodate this issue.
One thing I’ve noticed is how Petrino really loves exploiting match-ups, particularly in the receivers vs secondary… So it’s no surprise that he’d apply that philosophy to the O-line as well.
I don't know how to put this, but I am very important. People know me.
I saw a screenshot for
the starter’s introductions where they were designated that way, both guards and tackles. I was hoping someone might be familiar with Petrino’s thoughts on doing this, I am having a hard time figuring outwhat he finds this is helpful for in his offense.
Er, Mr. Payne. Sir. You know every second that you could let us out early would really increase our chances of survival.
It's like our sergeant told us before one trip into the jungle.
Men!
Fifty of you are leaving on a mission. Twenty-five of you ain't coming back.

maybe this has something to do with
arkansas’ lack of a running game.
we have a lot of inexperience on the line.
Two former guards playing tackle and two freshmen inside. It would be tough to have them great at both pass and run blocking at this point.
