SEC Power Poll: Week 1
Fall around these parts means three things: football season, a new crop of marginally talented unpaid interns and the SEC Power Poll. Here are our insightful thoughts on the state of the conference after the first weekend of games (our preseason rankings are in parentheses):
1. (1) Alabama - Rolling.
2. (3) Georgia - A nice start to the season...but where's A.J. Green?
3. (2) Florida - Possibly should be lower based on their anemic first game, but moving them below the Hogs so soon would run the risk of jinxing too many things.
4. (4) Arkansas - Season starts on September 18.
5. (7) South Carolina - Very solid opening week just makes the inevitable late season collapse more painful.
6. (5) Auburn - Gus knows offense, but they gave up waaaay too many points against Arkansas State.
7. (7) LSU - Les Miles just makes everything more fun.
8. (8) Mississippi State - Boldly staking their claim as the best team in Mississippi.
9. (9) Kentucky - We'll repeat last week's hilarious joke: only a few more weeks until basketball season!
10. (10) Tennessee - This weekend's game against Oregon could get ugly.
11. (12) Vanderbilt - Advanced by virtue of losing to a Division 1 team.
12. (9) Ole Miss - The good news is that they don't have to play any more FCS teams this year.

Like how you keep us just low enough not to get the big head.
I think that we are catching Georgia at a good time after their clash with South Carolina, they can beat each other up for east bragging rights and then we’ll come in and smack the dogs, lol.
The two Miss. comments
are great! I just wonder “What if” South Carolina doesn’t collapse this year. Would CBS bother to broadcast a South Carolina vs. Arkansas (that is if we don’t collapse either) SEC Championship game? “What? No Alabama? No Florida? No Tim Tebow? Why bother?” And the only highlights from ESPN would be the coin toss! haha.

Man you’re laughing but that is to close to really being true. ESPN would crap on their sevles.
"Les Miles just makes everything more fun."
Never a truer word. It’s going to be a sad day when LSU gets around to firing him.
Let's not count our chickens (Gamecocks) before they hatch...
If you guys saw the same team I did, South Carolina looks a little different this year. I’m not saying we will lose that game, because I don’t think we will, but I don’t think it will be a walk in the park either. Their defense is truly their best offense!
Can our offense outplay their defense? Yes! They might win some battles on the line, but we have too many offensive weapons. Even ESPN called our recievers and backs one of the top 3 corps in the country. (Imagine that, they gave us some respect.)
GO HOGS!!!

Ryan Mallett goes 21 for 24, for 301 yards and three touchdowns, including an 85 yard throw to Adams. So does that make the ESPN highlight video? No, because a much more important play was Tyler Wilson’s interception in the fourth quarter, during mop-up time. I swear I’d like to find out who the pinhead is at ESPN who hates the Hogs so much, and pants him so we can find out (1) whether his boxers say LSU or Alabama, and (2) whether he even needs underwear in the first place; I’m guessing no.
