Arkansas Bowl Trivia: You Got The Right Answer?

In honor of this being post bowl selection Monday, I have cooked up a trivia question related to Arkansas and bowl games. The Hogs have averaged 23 points in Bobby Petrino's two bowl games with us, but many of us have visions of the Hogs scoring well above the average against K-State's below average pass defense. (That is if we don't get a bad case of the drops again.) With that in mind, I make the subject for this trivia question, offensive production in Arkansas bowl games. Make your best pick below and then look in the comment section for the answer.

The answer is -

1980 Hall of Fame Bowl Win Over Tulane. The Hogs scored 34 to Tulane’s 15 in that one. Second in scoring, at 31 points each, are 1976 Cotton, 1999 Citrus, and 1978 Orange. If the Hogs had scored 31 in the 1990 Cotton, they would have gotten a tie with Tennessee in that one. Sadly, they scored 27 that day. Not listed as an option, but the Hogs did score 28 points in a win over Florida in the Bluebonnet Bowl.

Some people don't need a vote that should count. Is that okay to say?

In the Harris poll we had an average vote of 7.252174. We were ranked 4th-8th, 95 out of 115 voters. We were 6th in the Final BCS rankings. The list above voted us 9th all the way to 19th. Using just their votes we would have been ranked 11.3. Using only the 12 worst voters in that list we would have been ranked 12.83333. Would you like to see the vote from the list about? Some voters are way out of touch when you look at the list.

19th?!?!

The person who ranked us there must have a serious issue with Arkansas in the past. That is ridiculous. Is there any accountability whatsoever for someone who exhibits a blatant bias?

We had great back to back seasons. Let's start a tradition of winning our bowl games.

I have a fellow co-worker who is an LSU fan. He loaned me a DVD called, “Ole War Skule: The Story of Saturday Night”. I watched most of it and enjoyed learning some things about LSU I didn’t know. Lot of tradition. I am sure we have some kind of DVD at Arkansas don’t we. If you know of one post it here.

There was a DVD that came out some years ago

about the 22 wins we had in 1964 and 1965. Twenty-two Straight, I think it was called.
