Poll: One Game In, What's Your Take on the Running Game?
If you're looking for things to worry about in the wake of the Razorbacks' 51-7 thumping of Missouri State, you might fret over the fact that the Hogs accumulated only 102 rushing yards. In the wake of Knile Davis' season-ending ankle injury, lots of Arkansas fans were undoubtedly watching the running game with eagle eyes.
So, what's your take on the situation? Vote in the poll below and pipe up in the comments thread. FWIW, I voted for "not worried." But check back with me after the Alabama game.

should say “Ronnie Wingo Jr. picks up yard” instead of “yardage”.
I’m not too worried about it. According to the post game comments from Petrino, Mizzou State’s defense was geared towards stopping the run all night. Although Wingo doesn’t seem to run as hard as Knile, I’m not going to hit the panic button just yet. We have a couple more games to improve before Bama. I still think A BCS bowl is a reachable goal. I’m a glass half full type of guy.

Petrino said he didn’t think Mo State would be effective against the pass, and they weren’t. This game was not a great barometer of what the running game can do against a decent, but not great, run defense. Troy will be.
worried, really?
a few things… look at the yards per carry. curtis had 7, and i think walker was close to that. i have never had solid faith in wingo past his ability catch passes in the flats and make something. he dances around too much looking for a wide open lane to hit as opposed to the McFadden-make-your-own-lane method. he is too timid.
did you guys forget that last year we had the committee approach with similar stats till about the halfway mark. im starting to believe that petrino does this in the first half of the season on purpose to save the health of the backs claiming hes waiting for a leader. i think he knows his top rusher in the pack. when hes got a stable, why not do the committee to keep them healthy for the tail end of the season?
the new leader in my opinion will be a strong mix of curtis and walker. the jury is out on DJ still. if they guy can stay healthy and run looking to be hit like he is capable of, i would go with him over curtis. i still really like walker.
Here's the deal
The run opens up the pass, the pass opens up the run. Still, If you’re lacking at one you make up for it with the other. With our receivers being at talented as they are, I imagine it won’t be hard to develope a good running game even with the least talented of our backs. And flash23 is on the money. Missouri St was keying on the run and it really cost them. Most of our opposing defenses will be keying on the pass. Ringo Jr will get his numbers. So will Walker and maybe even Curtis.
Besides, if we can win games through the air, who needs a running game? Of course, some might say a running game is what would have won the Alabama game last year, but, I believe our passing attack is better this year than it was last and our defense is definitely better.
Don’t forget our special teams looking amazing too. After all, Joe earned SEC player of the week! http://www.arkansasrazorbacks.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=6100&ATCLID=205266727
