Tonight's Game: Who You Got?
So the season ends tonight. That is the actual season that involves the playing of college football. Recruiting, training, promotion, and a world of other endeavors, they all continue. But here's one last chance to make a prediction on a college football game and a bet if you have money to burn (I don't!). I've been a poor predictor again this year with my SEC bowl picks, so LSU fans might not like to hear that I think they are going to win this game. Tiger fans, I was on target about Arkansas and South Carolina winning their games, if that makes you feel any better. So what is the collective opinion of the blog here? Click on one and then let us know your reasoning in the comment section. My analysis isn't really any deeper than this just seems to be LSU's year, which is disturbingly coming every four years these days!

Nick’s teams seem to adjust well for re-matches. He is one of those coaches that you may beat once but rarely beat twice in a season or two.
Les has the talent with the metal/physical toughness just like AL. He has beaten them once and possible may again. They have been more battle tested this season.
Neither team has the dynamic offense of a team like Arkansas but even if they did what could either team do with those opposing defenses.
LSU has the advantage at QB position.
I think both are equally matched in the run game.
It will come down to mistakes, turnovers, special teams, and who has the best passing game.
I think the score will be 21-17 ish…. it could go either way.

LSU all the way. ( Not a shocker I know)
The key tonight will be speed. LSU’s speed on offense, defense, and special teams. They are the fastest defense in college football. And tonight they are on the turf of the Superdome. The field heavily favors the faster team. LSU…
LSU’s defense already proved to be faster than Alabama’s offense. Had they not blown two coverage assignments that left TR WIDE OPEN coming out of the backfield, the yardage totals would look more in LSU’s favor. (After the 1st quarter LSU actually held the yardage advantage 204-171) In the 4th quarter and OT you basically saw the depth of our team come into play. Trent got loose one time, but other than that Bama was moving backwards. LSU…
LSU’s offense is going to tire out Bama’s defense by running sideline to sideline and rotating the 4 RB’s. By the 4th quarter you’ll see the middle open up for Ware and Hilliard. This is the same area that is nearly impossible to get anything going on the ground early in the game. The option play was money for LSU on Nov. 5th, and I am sure that Bama has practiced extensively on it. But they knew they were going to run it last year and they lost. They knew with Jefferson coming in the game back in November that they were going to see the option / zone read plays and they were getting chunks of yards on the ground. FORD will have a GREAT game. Also… Randall WILL catch his TD pass this time.
24-10 LSU….

who voted OSU?
Kansas State was the 2nd best team in the Big XII (-2).
Arkansas was the 3rd best team in the SEC (with the worst defense among the top SEC teams).
Arkansas held KSU to their lowest offensive output all year and beat them by 13. OSU only beat KSU by 7 and had to hold on to win by that.
There is no way that OSU could play with LSU or Alabama.

Split decision
I know I’m not the first to point this out, but it would be great to see Alabama win to hasten the implosion of the BCS. I can’t believe “they” ever let a re-match take place. Clearly a ‘bama win does not equal a national championship if the win is over a team they already lost to once. Yes, it happens in the NFL, but that’s a playoff… not a lottery.

I am all about some Purple and Gold...
But I am not going to say that if Bama wins they aren’t the national champions. Of course they would be. They had some things go their way to get them to the show, but the fact of the matter is they put in enough work to even be considered for the BCSNC.
And “THEY” is the other 100+ FBS teams. If you don’t want a rematch… WIN and keep winning. Don’t lose to Texas Tech. Don’t lose to Iowa State. Don’t lose to Oregon. Don’t lose to USC. If you can’t do that, then you don’t DESERVE to be in the show. Was OK State more deserving of getting a shot in the National Championship game? Yes, but it would have been completely one sided and anyone who says differently is wrong. The only teams that could touch LSU or Bama was LSU and Bama. They had to play again. Too many variables in the last game.
Missed FG’s
Reid’s Interception one the 1 yrd line.
Jared Lee’s meltdown and Jefferson taking over.
Bama players being banged up.
Ford stepping out of bounds in OT
Randall dropping a TD pass.
The “Honeybadger” being in hybernation mode coming off of his suspension
Conservative gameplay by LSU
Nick Saban choosing NOT to punt and instead trying for long field goals over AND over AND over…
Needless to say. OK State was the easy road. This 2011 Tigers team didn’t take the easy road. They don’t want the easy road. They want to work for it and leave NO DOUBT who is the best team in the country.

I am amazed at how even the voting is here.
We have 38 votes for Bama and 38 for LSU. Two brave people dared to say OSU! haha.
Passing game thus far at half time is AL
…………………
I think both are equally matched in the run game.
It will come down to mistakes, turnovers, special teams, and who has the best passing game. Arkansas has them both beat in the passing game.
We are one fantastic defense and better offensive line away from the BCS Title game.
This is what Ark is missing to win it all.

I detest Les Miles. I know the game is looking like Bama is going to win, but I took them in all 3 of my pools and I’m looking to cash in on 2 of them with an Alabama win.
Hopefully someday soon we will all be at the game instead of voting on it!

Les miles = lame coach
You had to think that the Hogs would have given them a better game this year if BP had more time to game plan. LSU may have the the talent, but a well coached team (especially one equally as tough as Alabama) is going to beat LSU every time as long as the Mad Hatter is coach.
He proved that last night.
There hadn’t been a BCS shutout until last night. No one to blame but Les Miles.
Staying classy in Colorado.
Bama was a better team the 1st time around.
They proved that by running up and down the field for most of the game.
Bama’s 2 place kickers single handedly lost that game for the Tide and had the bogus INT call down near the goal line been different and awarded to the Bama TE, they more than likely would’ve won the game in regulation anyway.
