Dorial Green-Beckham Chooses Missouri over Arkansas
Dorial Green-Beckham announced his decision just a short while ago. Oh well - it would have been great to see him in Razorback red, but we wish him the best of luck.
We hope to have more thoughts later but in the meantime, let us know your reaction.

It happens.
Kid was a unique situation. Had it not been for his desire to stay very close to home, neither Arkansas nor Missouri would have been in the running for him, IMO. He’s Missouri’s only WR recruit… and it’s pretty obvious they brought the house to sign him.
The thing is, he’s not a game-changer for our program. No one player ever will be. We’re stacked on offense, we have a good recruiting class (that probably won’t be ranked very high, if at all… but check back in about 3 years when the classes are re-ranked), and, most importantly, we got some good defensive players… which is what will turn out to be a game-changer for us.
Mizzou actually has another WR in the 2012 class, as well as picking up a transfer from Texas
I believe in the The Black & Gold Standard
in addition to DGB
Levi Copelin WR 6-2 170 Broken Arrow, Okla. (Broken Arrow) Link
Darius White WR 6-3 200 Fort Worth, Texas (Univ. of Texas) Link
I believe in the The Black & Gold Standard
yeah he played both in HS
Mizzou’s AD website lists him as a WR, and like you said others have him as a DB (including the link I posted, actually)… anyway, regardless at least two additions to the current WR corp, which is pretty solid

I have to say that I am a little happy to see him go elsewhere. I know it is kinda crazy to say that I didn’t want the #3 ranked player on the top 150, but I am more interested in a balanced receiving core and a solid defense.

Haha, that is kind of crazy, but he could end up being a bust just like countless recruits before him. I would agree with you if him signing kept a defensive game changer out of Fayetteville, but that isn’t the case. Arkansas is still doing pretty good at WR, but he would have eased the pain from losing so much talent this year.
It hurts a little less for him to go to Mizzou. I can’t stand it when guys pick Auburn or Alabama over Arkansas, but I actually feel kind of sorry for him. Missouri is the second most God awful state I’ve ever been in (West Virginia is #1), and every time I make the trip to Mountain Home or Rogers I hope to be out of there as fast as humanly possible.
GET TO THE CHOPPA!!!
A year earlier and he would have went to ?
I have to wonder if he had been available for last year’s signing class if he would have taken Arkansas’s offer. At that time Missouri was still a Big 12 school. They he could stay at home and play in the SEC, that had to have been a factor. But you know what, I agree with dxf04, we aren’t a depend upon one player type of team. We lost Knile Davis last year and still put together the best record in school history since 1977.
Neal?
What are the chances that Neal or any of the other big name recruits sign on with the Hogs?
GET TO THE CHOPPA!!!
see you next season boys

No You Won't
I don’t know when Missouri will come on Arkansas’s schedule, but it isn’t next season. In the mean time, I hope your new recruit is able to help Missouri beat an SEC West team or two. The Hogs would appreciate it.
yeah I remembered after I posted
that we got stuck with “Most Talented Team in Sports” as our cross-div rival.. I was always personally hoping for you all
I believe in the The Black & Gold Standard
oh puh-lease
if you can’t handle smack-talk THAT mild, you probably need to get off the internet
I believe in the The Black & Gold Standard
The fact that you're over here "smack-talking"...
Instead of celebrating your commit with your brethren is exactly what I’m talking about.
As far as “getting off the internet”, some of us actually have the ability to act like adults on it. That’s why I get admittedly a little chippy when others don’t.
my point is, it was pretty lighthearted
no need for the chippy-ness, but react as you will
I believe in the The Black & Gold Standard
Really? That gif is probably the worst attempt at "smack talking" I've ever seen
Well aside from the rap video some of you’re students put out talking shit about Kansas.
Look, it’s dissapointing we didn’t get him but at the end of the day, it really doesn’t hurt us that much considering the talent we already have at WR. My reaction is simply meh. If it were a top DE or DT, it would be different.
So congrats on signing him and joining the SEC I suppose, but I think it’s pretty clear your fan base has no clue what it’s getting into (see aforementioned video).
When people from the SEC say stuff like that...
I wonder what rock they’re hiding under. You guys act like Missouri is some average football program and, hence, just going to get pounded in the SEC. From a FACTUAL perspective, consider:
(1) Missouri was 8-5 last year with a first-year quarterback and endless injuries against what EVERY computer model considered to be a top-5 or top-10 schedule.
(2) Missouri has won 48 games over the past 5 years.
(3) Missouri has flooded the NFL in the past 5 years (two top 10 last year).
In short, get a clue. Is Missouri Alabama or LSU? No. But you know what, Missouri has just as many SEC football championships as Arkansas. And I suppose you guys remember what happened last time we played each other in the Cotton Bowl.
As far as next year:
Georgia at Home = Toss up (we’ll say win since I have to pick)
South Carolina on the road = Loss
Vandy at Home = Win
Alabama at Home = Loss
Kentucky at Home = Win
Florida on the road = Win
Tenn on the road = Win
Texas A&M on the road = Win
6 -2

The point of my post which you clearly missed
Is that the fans of most SEC schools would not take very kindly to the type of “smack talk” Logan Hill tried to engage in. While you won’t find it here, fans of other schools would probably exert a level of vitriol that would make you reconsider the notion of ever posting on their board/blog.
I suppose in a related sense that I, like them, find your strong sense of confidence amusing. Especially when you base that confidence purely on straw men “facts.” But go ahead and count up your wins. I’m not going to argue about it because frankly I don’t know anything about your team, nor do I really care. But I will make fun of you for simply engaging in the process considering you’ve never played an SEC schedule.
And really, you bring up the cotton bowl from five years ago? Why not bring up the independence bowl from a couple of years before that?
Or
I could bring up your astounding defense surrendering 38 to A&M on a neutral field…and my post was addressing a general theme regarding Missouri not your post in particular.
I brought up the Cotton Bowl because that was when we last played.
Not addressing my post?
You replied to it and told me to “get a clue.”
And what does our game with A&M have to do with anything? There is not one hog fan who considered our defense “astounding” last year. As every other team knew, it was inconsistent at best and hardly our strength. Keep digging your hole though.
Gotcha on the relevance of the cotton bowl. I’ll be sure to look out next year for all the studs you had on that team. They’ll surely get you to that 6-2 record.
I understand...
I had been reading the entire thread above your posts and I probably interpreted “your fan base has no clue what it’s getting into” incorrectly.
I mention Arkansas defense because the common theme among SEC people is that the defenses in the Big 12 suck, not that the Big 12 has good offenses. I do realize you thumped Kansas State, but they were a strange breed in the Big 12…they couldn’t pass a lick so if you could stop the run…you were going to win.
And yes, I realize the nexus between 2007 and 2012 is terribly limited, my point is just that the SEC and the Big 12 aren’t from different worlds. Is the the SEC’s top better than the Big 12’s top right now? Yes. But as far as a week-in-and-week-out competition the Big 12 was tougher in 2011. The SEC currently has more bottom feeders…Kentucky, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Mississippi, Vandy, maybe even Florida although that will change quickly.
Missouri also returns less starters than any team in the entire SEC...
If I’m generous, I will give you 4-4 with that schedule. 3-5 is more likely.

gl to him
I hope Mizzou is terrible the next four years. I respect staying home but don’t drag it out. Mcfadden stayed home but that was known for months. But I guess if he wants to play in the independence bowl he made a good choice.

DGB's recruitment was interesting. He had a tough decision to make between Arkansas and Mizzou.
Hope he pans out. Hope the hogs have a good year.
Douche rocket8188, you might try some Prep H for your butthurt. Mizzou will do fine.

DGB to M-I-Z-Z-O-U
Arkansas always a bridesmaid and never a bride. That 3rd place finish in the SEC and Non-BCS Cotton Bowl victory just could not pull you Arkansas through. LMAO! And you lost him to Mizzou! LOL, LOL…

Javon Williams to UCLA
Theme for the day, Hogs lose another top wide receiver. Apparently, 3rd best in the SEC doesn’t hold much water. You guys better make sure you have Keon Hatcher’s LOI faxed in. Then again if Keon Hatcher chose Arkansas over OU or OSU he must not be very good. Probably the only reason Hogs got him out of Oklahoma. Sure would hate for ’Backs to lose another WR! Bwahahahahahahahaha

I'll be nice. As has been said many times before, you have serious issues.
You need to quit watching ancient aliens, feed your 15 cats, get out of your mom’s basement and go find a good psychologist.
you guys are talking about RECRUITS
If you are depending on this year’s recruits to make next year’s team better, then you are in a world of hurt.
This year’s recruits should make the team two and three years from now better. How successful has your coaching staff been at improving players (regardless what their star was in recruiting) year over year makes a great program.
I’ll take Petrino’s way of getting players that fit his mold then making works of art with them.
Elite programs take elite talent and make them better (see: Alabama).
Great programs take their talent and make them better.
Coaches looking for work recruit top talent and do nothing for them (see: Ole Miss under Orgeon/Nutt)
Recruit class ranking is a base point. Recruiting Classes should be ranked after three and four years.
"I solemnly swear to tell the truth as I know it, the whole truth as I believe it to be, and nothing but what I think you need to know."
Oh, I can't wait for this season to start.
I sure hope to avenge our Nuttless Cotten bowl. Good to see our brethren out here on the offseason. Can’t wait to call the hogs with you for a football game. How about those track, gymnast, and BBall hogs?!
Staying classy in Colorado.

Nothing better to do in Mizz than troll a Hog blog
No one in the state of Arkansas cares about the tigers. Your team gets invited to the major league conference because other teams were afraid and now you’re one of the big boys of college football? Wtf?

One man show
Good luck to DGB at Mizzou. Bottom line is I am impressed with what BP does with the talent he recruits. These kids change a lot from the time they are 17/18 until they graduate. Like momma said…“Life is like a box of chocolates…” The true measure of a recruiting class comes in 2-3 years.
