Around SBN: Roy Nelson Willing to Pay for His Next Opponent's Drug Test

Tennessee 77, Arkansas 58

Same old story, same old song and dance, my friend.

Not much to say, just another dreadfully dull beatdown on the road.

Now watch us beat Florida.

Unreal how bad Arkansas is on the road

I’ve literally never seen anything like it…

I have. It was Missouri the last 4 years.

See you next year.

can't we just pave over kansas?

Hey hey...

No need to gloat. Get to a Final Four, first. ;)

i have no room to gloat or brag. but i would smile really big if we could manage to run in to you guys in the tourney this year. frank haith seems to have caught lightning in a bottle.

Road Stats: Anderson vs. Haith 2007/8 -2010/11

Anderson vs. Haith
road,overall vs. road, overall
2-8, 16-16 vs. 4-6,23-11
5-5, 31-7 vs. 5-6,19-13
4-6, 23-11 vs. 2-8,20-13
2-7, 23-11 vs. 4-8,21-15
total road, total overall vs. total road, total overall
.33, .67 vs. .35, .62

I’ll take the .02 less in road percentage for the .05 plus overall percentage.

I rarely pull statistics like this, because I feel they are mostly meaningless in sports, especially college basketball where teams can vary wildly year by year, but I keep hearing Missouri fans bring up Andersons poor road record and I needed to compare it to another college coach at a non-powerhouse program to see how much water their statements held. Naturally, I chose Haith and his past four seasons at Miami as a comparison since it was convenient. The findings, while admittedly from a small pool of information, points to what I thought would most likely be the case. Most years, teams don’t win on the road consistently. You need veteran teams with substantial talent and experience playing on the road, much like Missouri has this year, and precisely what Arkansas does not have.

Whew! Alright Hogs, bounce back and beat Florida at the packed house on Saturday.

I believe Kentucky was 2-7 on the road last year

they made the Final Four

If I cared more about my UNC side, I'd call myself "Tar Volon," and that'd be awesome.

Evenin', y'all

Obi came over to Rocky Top Talk just before the Florida game on Saturday and said the Vols were awful on the road and would be beaten by 15-20 points. I think you’ve just been assured a win in Auburn.

Yeah...

That was before Will Yeguete went down with a concussion and Mike Rosario couldn’t play due to a hip injury. Don’t gloat. The Vols won’t even be making the NIT this year, so I’ll send you a postcard from the NCAA regionals in Nashville. :)

You guys ARE awful on the road. Clearly that game was an aberration, with Florida suffering some extremely untimely and unfortunate injuries to an already thin frontcourt. No sane person would tell you otherwise.

Because they helped so much the first time Florida played Tennessee ;-)

yeah

I’m sure Florida’s top two backups would’ve made a huge difference. Never mind Tennessee’s most talented inside man being limited by a wrist injury and only playing 11 minutes. And, as bobo mentioned, them helping so much in the last meeting.

If I cared more about my UNC side, I'd call myself "Tar Volon," and that'd be awesome.

If you don't think

The Gators would have done much better with them, I don’t know what to tell you. Rosario was sick with the flu during the first meeting (only playing 2 minutes), so you’ve yet to play a healthy Florida team, either. Every team faces injuries, so oh well.

You can go ahead and gloat about your victories, I don’t really care what you say either way. The Gators are on their way to the tournament, while the Vols will most likely be sitting at home. I’m sure you’d switch places with us in a heartbeat, that’s for sure. No. 12 in the country and 20-6 sure beats 13-12 and not even in the NIT.

Oh, and FYI, the Giants got swept by a mediocre divisional rival (the Redskins) this season. You think they’re crying about that now?
