Among plenty of other putdowns of Southern culture, Thompson included a discussion of SEC football in his manuscript. You can imagine how well-received this was. T Kyle King wrote an excellent response to that portion of the book. Check it out. It's always good to see what outsiders think. You don't have to read the book to understand what's going on.
