Cornerback Carroll Washington committed to Arkansas Tuesday. Washington, from Hartnell (California) C.C. and Baltimore high schooler, is the 12th commitment of the Razorbacks' class. Depending on what recruiting service you use, Washington is somewhere between a mid-level three star and four star player. Regardless, he is a highly regarded cornerback in the junior college ranks. Other BCS offers Washington held include Mississippi State, Texas Tech, and Rutgers (and, really, Fayetteville compared to those places? Please.).
Here's a link to his juco highlight video.
It's interesting that of the 12 recruits committed to Arkansas, 6 of them are defenders. Washington is the 4th DB. It definitely shows a renewed emphasis on that side of the ball. It's no secret that defense has been the question mark of the team since, oh, 2007 or so.
