It's Always Worst When It Happens To You

Stay connected for news and updates

A little bit of drama has brought Alex to Arkansas, but nothing like Floyd Raven and Ole Miss 2 years ago

Arkansas and Alex Collins's mother made quite the splash on National Signing Day, but it may not be the craziest ever.

I stumbled upon this article at Bleacher Report and It made me feel a lot better.

On NSD in 2011, Ole Miss received an LOI from [Floyd] Raven, but something was fishy. His signature didn't look right so they contacted him again, and Raven informed them that his mother had forged his name because she wanted him to go to Ole Miss.

While National Signing Day wasn't an ideal situation with Alex Collin's mother swiping faxes and leaving the school, at least we didn't get the situation Ole Miss and A&M went through two years ago. I hope that Arkansas fans really embrace his mother and I hope she does the same with us. We all just want the kid to have a great life and play football. Just some of us want that to be in Fayetteville, AR and another people want that in Miami, Florida.

If you've got the time, check out the whole slideshow, because my favorite is the guy without a scholarship who announced a big press conference to decide. I think I'm going to do that next year, I think I've still got some eligibility left.
